International Challenge

International Challenge

The Series is supported by ACES Europe – the organisation responsible for awarding destinations across Europe and beyond for prestigious sports awards.

We feature an award-winning European City of Sport each month and invite participants to run, cycle or walk the distance it would take to get there from the UK.

February : Terni, Italy

Terni is a city in the region of Umbria in central Italy and known as the “City of Lovers”, as its patron saint, Saint Valentine, was born and became a bishop here.

The city hosts the international Valentine’s Day marathon, but is famed for a wide range of open-air sports that flourish between the Nera Valley and Tiber river.
